About US really means, About You. Every member has great control over this site, in any section you see as appropriate. A new section can be developed on request; i.e., you can have your own section that you provide content to each month. To me this is the most exciting part of the web site.
About the Web master: I started my career with a B.A. in psychology from USF, and M.A. in clinical psychology from John F. Kennedy University. My first job following school was as a counselor in mental health for Rubicon Programs, Inc. in Richmond, CA. I also served for two years as the Program Manager for the Cerebral Palsy Center in Oakland, CA., and in 1988 moved onto working for NBRC as a CPC, and later in their Quality Assurance Unit. During this time I was responsible for the Title 17 new provider orientation, program design reviews, facility investigations, and extensive facility evaluations. From this experience, I became interested in opening my first home, and in 1994 my wife and I opened a service level 4D ARF, and two years later a service level 4i Group Home. I was previously an instructor for the seventy hour DSP certification class through ROP, and continue to teach Continuing Education classes a few times a year.
I have a lot of respect for each regional center’s huge responsibilities as an agency, and a profound and deep respect for anyone serving as a care provider. I have been constantly humbled by the enormous challenges I have experienced as the administrator for a care home. As a team, NBRC and Residential share the same purpose, to provide people having a developmental disability the best life they can have, and that is something both of us can be proud of choosing as a career.
All (information/articles/fun things) contributions to carehomeonline.com are welcomed. The more we all share our knowledge the better we all become. We will post advertisements, training opportunities, items for sale, etc., etc.,

Disclaimer: The information on this web site is based on contributions. Although we will always be as factual as possible, sometimes the information may be wrong. Title 22, Title 17, and Labor Law are all complex legal documents, and although we might discuss these topics, they are the last word on what is right. We all do the best we can, but the bottom line expert on Title 22 is Community Care Licensing, Title 17 is the Regional Center, and Labor Law is the State of California.
Also, where one practice may be acceptable to one regional center, it may not be with another.
